Food Matters Live is an events-based organisation championing food innovation and sustainability. This project required UX/UI design for the relaunch of the Food Matters Live online site, following a rebrand by Curious London. Working into the Digital CD of Curious I helped implement the new brand direction with a comprehensive set of templates and a component design library.
The re-design largely followed a modular card-based structure with continuous labelling and signposting to help the users navigate the broad amount of content types and categories.
Promotional layout sections helped drive particular sign-ups or partner profiles.
Templates could be adapted to act as mini-event homepages or as subject matter homepages as seen with the addition of background colour blocks to provide a distinctive section of the site and add a colour categorisation.
As the user gets deeper into the site - full-width page templates are used, becoming more tailored to their specific use. Below is an editorial content page that sits behind sign-up functionality, on the right a layout showing the running order of events over two days.
Once templates, component structures and design elements were finalised, a mini design system in Figma was created to support the build team. Below is a selection of some artboards and components from the design system.
