Whilst at IMG Arena I was lucky to work on The Open Shot Tracker project, leading the UI design. The Open shot tracker provided a live view of every player on the Royal Liverpool course. It presented the viewer with a shot-by-shot graphic of the hole they were playing, accompanied by in-depth statistics for every performance aspect. The task involved creating a bespoke branded portal for The Open within their new brand guidelines, and adapting existing Golf Event Centre data modules.
Viewers over the tournament.
The images below show the Group Shot view, with the viewer able to select and follow any group, as they played each hole. On each hole, they were able to view the player's performance for Scoring, Off the tee, Approach, Short game and Putting. Each category is broken down into individual statistics. This accompanied a visual showing each shot played and the location on the course.
The images below show the Leaderboard view, with the viewer able to select an individual player, see their scorecard and view their performance on each hole. The performance categories within this view included; Scoring, Strokes gained, Off the tee, Approach, Short game and putting.
All views were created for responsive screen widths with numerous breakpoints, adapting categories and statistic graphics to suit viewing behaviours.
